Commercial

SCOTTfoam (formerly Insulfoam and Foamitt) offers a cost effective, easy to use insulation solution for a commercial building. It is a two component portable, spray ‘in situ’, quick curing foam.

SCOTTfoam provides the answer to all your problems:

  • it insulates
  • it reduces heat loss
  • it seals and adds structural stability
  • it stops condensation
  • it provides sound absorption benefits
  • and it is fire retardant

Why use SCOTTfoam in a commercial building?

An uninsulated metal shed of any size will suffer very poor thermal insulation which in turn leads to a very cold building in winter and a very hot building in summer, together with problems due to condensation.

These two main problems with metal roofs and walls in industrial and farm buildings can both be solved by spraying with polyurethane foam. Just a minimum coverage of 25 mm will be enough to stop condensation.

SCOTTfoam offers a better solution to insulation batts.

Traditionally used to provide a solution, the very nature of this product means that they do not totally solve the thermal insulation or condensation problems. In fact if the batts are applied allowing an airway to reduce condensation, achievement of a thermal heat loss is greatly reduced.

SCOTTfoam will outlast the life of the building!

Yes, it is true, tests indicate that our foam has an indefinite life and as long as it is not subjected to UV light from the sun it will last the life of the building.  Painting the foam will protect the foam from UV light.

SCOTTfoam provides more than just an R-value.

An R-value is important but it measures only heat lost by conduction. SCOTTfoam has R-values as high or higher than fibreglass insulation, but has the added advantage of completely stopping transference of heat by air movement.

SCOTTfoam has no nutritional value.

So it won’t attract rodents, insects or bacteria which, in conjunction with temperature controlling equipment could allow produce to be stored for longer and in better conditions.

SCOTTfoam offers acoustic insulation.

A major benefit for a workplace that has multiple uses; for example a factory with adjoining offices.

SCOTTfoam does not require the purchase of specialist equipment.

Our unique refill system allows you to purchase just the right amount of foam required to complete your task—apart from a couple of consumable items, we loan all the equipment so all you pay for is the foam!

SCOTTfoam is fire retardant.

While the foam is fire retardant (self extinguishing when flame is removed), it is not to be used as a fire barrier or fire stop.
